I want a javascript function that will rotate a base64 image by X degrees and return the new base64 image.

Example I wish to call a function with something like:

var newImg = rotateImg(imageData, 90); //which should return a base64 string of the original image rotated 90 degrees.

Ideally, the function will be backwards compatible with non html5 browsers, but pure canvas solutions are welcome for simplicity.

I have been battling with this for days.

I understand that the solution will probably be, load an image object with the original string, create a temp canvas object and context, then rotate context, then convert canvas back to image string but just can get it to work.... Please HELP!!
