It is a 30 day trial - of the C1 Pro - after the time period for trying the full version is over, it reverts to a more limited feature set, aka the Express.

The part that i don't understand though, why there's a "For Sony" label in the name? If it's free for all and there's the Pro purchase, then there's no sense for the "Free For Sony" label in the name.

It's because it is free ONLY for Sony. If you have raw files from Canon or Nikon, you get 30 day free trial and after that you have to pay. That's why there are four versions of C1: Express and pro for Sony files. And express and pro for all other cameras.

Do they really limit their program solely based on the RAW file EXIF data to determine the camera brand? :-/ Somehow i'm not sure but oh well, i'll try ASAP.

PS: Is there any difference between the Capture One Express that is available from Sony webpage than the one PhaseOne publishes on their page?
