Thema: doubts with file history and system image backup on Windows 10 Home
Is file history the same as system image?File History (Windows 10)
File History is significantly different from Backup and Restore in that its primary purpose is to allow you to back up personal files rather than creating a complete system image.
What is the difference between a system image backup and a file backup?A file backup creates a backup of files and folders, or even complete drives with the included files. A image backup, however, copies an entire partition and thus all the bits and bytes that reside on a hard drive partition. An image backup is performed more quickly when backing up a complete partition.
Is a system image better than a backup? If you were to compare a file backup vs image backup, you would find that file backups are typically a more flexible way of doing backups, scheduling, and are normally smaller backups than disk image backups. But, image backups are better in disaster scenarios where an entire system restore is required.
What is the differences between a system restore and the file history? The main difference is the System image back up restores the entire OS along with files and settings, whereas File History is only restricted to file backup and there is no difference with the folders apart from the purpose.
