Harvard acceptance rate 2023


Once again admission rates have dropped for most of the coveted Ivy League eight in the latest round of admissions for incoming Class of 2023.

Harvard University hit a record admissions low of 4.5% admitting 1,950 of their record high 43,330 applicant pool. Yale University also hit an admissions rate low of 5.91% accepting 2,178 of the 36,843 who applied to the incoming Class of 2023, while Princeton University reported an admission rate of 5.77% [slightly up from the 5.49% admission rate for the Class of 2022] accepting 1,895 of the 32,804 applicant pool.

New York’s Columbia University also recorded an admission rate drop to 5.1% [down from 5.51% for the Class of 2022] with 2,190 of their record 42,569 granted admission to the Class of 2023.

Brown University reported a significant drop in the admission rate for this latest application year from 7.4% for the Class of 2022 to 6.6% for the Class of 2023 - the Providence Rhode Island University accepting 2,551 students from their 38,674 applicants, while at the University of Pennsylvania, another admission rate low of 7.44% was also recorded [down from 8.39% from the previous year] with 3,345 accepted from a record 44,960 applications.

Dartmouth College also reported new lows in admission statistics - their admission rate dropping to 7.9% [from 8.74% in the previous year]. The Big Green offered admission to 1,868 of their record high 23,650 applicants.

Finally, Cornell University accepted 5,183 of their 49,118 applicant pool - Cornell being the only Ivy to record an admission rate over 10% at 10.6%.
