What is Listeners On Call?

As the pioneer in Consumer Listening Services, Listeners On Call is a new platform that promotes mental health and well-being by connecting Callers to trained Listeners anonymously and affordably. Our foundational philosophy of Connected Listening builds on shared experiences to create an immediate bond between Callers and Listeners. We are committed to connecting anyone, anywhere, anytime with someone who has a related personal experience and is ready to listen, and are proud to offer on call empathy, privacy and support for millions of people who need to feel heard.

Who should use Listeners On Call?

Listeners On Call is designed to make a connection between those who need someone to talk to about something they are going through with a person who can relate to their situation. Listeners On Call hopes to connect people in need of an empathetic sounding board with people who have similar experiences.

Who should NOT use Listeners On Call?

Listeners On Call is not designed to provide mental health counseling, advice, coaching or any other professional services. If you are experiencing harmful thoughts towards yourself or others, dramatic changes in eating or sleeping habits, delusions or hallucinations, or any other changes in your mental or physical health that impedes your daily functioning at work, school or in your relationships, your safety is top priority.

Who are the Listeners?

Listeners are individuals who have a natural desire to help others who are facing something they themselves have faced in their life. We believe that anyone can be a great Listener with support from our Listening Academy and the Listeners On Call community. Our platform includes safeguards such as a mandatory background check, and all Listeners are trained on Connected Listening through our Listening Academy. Callers can feel confident they are speaking with someone who can tap into their experience and empathetic listening skills to be there for them.

What is a call like?

A call is the opportunity to connect with someone based on shared experiences. Callers connect with a Listener who has a shared connection to what they are facing - and based on their topic message, have a sense of their personality. This way, calls start from a place of sharing. Calls are intended to provide a judgement-free, anonymous space for a Caller to share whats on their mind and a Listener to provide an empathetic ear.

How is privacy and anonymity protected?

At Listeners On Call, we are committed to safety and comfort within the Listeners On Call community. All Listeners are trained in maintaining anonymity while expressing their true self to ensure a strong connection with each Caller. Our Call Guide, available to both Listeners and Callers, provides guidance on our privacy terms and best practices for maintaining anonymity during a call. Our Terms and Conditions of Use clearly outlines our stance on preserving anonymity before, during and after a call and we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that those who violate our commitment to anonymity are removed from the platform. In addition to training and policy development, connections occur through a secure line to ensure that personal phone numbers are never shared with the Listener or Caller.

How old do I have to be to use Listeners On Call?

All users must be 18 years of age or older, as noted in our Terms and Conditions of Use.

Is Listeners On Call available outside of the United States?

At this time, our platform is only available within the United States to individuals with US phone numbers.

How are Listeners and Callers matched?

Listeners and Callers are matched based on the following criteria: a shared connection to the Topic both choose, demographic filters like age, gender, or spirituality all of which are optional. Based on preferences, we present Listeners we feel might match. Potential Listeners can be reviewed by playing their messages, and then selecting the one[s] you feel most connected to. Callers are always in control of whether they want to connect with a potential Listener.

How does the Connection happen?

Once a Listener has been selected, we notify them and start the process of setting up a private conference call. We call the Listener first, and once they are on the line, we call the Caller. The connection occurs through our secure connection line, ensuring that personal information is never shared with anyone.

Is there a way to update my password?

Once an account is created, click the 3 lines on the top left corner of the App home screen to access the App MENU. Tap Profile & Preferences to open that portal. Once on the Profile page, select Change Password. First, enter the current password and then input a new password.

How do I cancel my account?

To cancel your account, please send an email to with login email and we will cancel the account.

Is there a way to reach out to Listeners On Call with questions or concerns?

If a question was not answered through our FAQ above, the Support Team can be reached by visiting the support section of our app via APP > MENU > SUPPORT. The Support Team is also available by visiting our website and connecting via the blue Support button in the lower right hand corner.

How much does it cost to use Listeners On Call?

Listeners On Call costs $0.50 per minute and you will only be charged for the minutes you are actually connected to a Listener.

What are Listener qualifications?

We believe that anyone with an empathetic heart and willingness to help can become a well-trained Listener and we welcome people from all walks of life to join our Listener community. That being said, safety is our top priority and all Listeners must pass a background check. Listeners are also required to complete a short Listener training through our Listening Academy before they can connect with Callers. All Listeners must be 18 years of age or older.

What do I do if a Listener is making me uncomfortable?

The comfort and safety of our Callers and Listeners is our top priority. For any concerns, Callers are encouraged to know they are always able to redirect a conversation and should never feel pressured to share or do anything. If you are unable to comfortably redirect a conversation, we encourage you to end the Connection with the Listener. Callers are encouraged to contact Support after the call ends to ensure that our Safety Team can review your concerns and take appropriate action. You have our full support knowing that we are doing everything possible to ensure a comfortable and safe call.


Are connections random or can I request a particular Listener?

Connections are not random; rather, they are based on compatibility and availability. When a Caller requests a connection, we locate available Listeners who match your preferences and criteria. You are then presented with audio messages from these Listeners, and ultimately you choose who you want to connect with. You are never connected with a Listener without you first listening to them and agreeing to connect.

If you connect with a Listener and have a great experience, you can favorite a Listener. These favorited Listeners will be listed in the My Listeners section of the app MENU. Visiting your My Listeners list will allow you to request to reconnect with Listeners when those Listeners are available.

What if my Topic is not listed?

If you do not see a Topic that matches exactly what you would like to connect on, consider something that is close. The message you leave will be the indicator to our Listeners what you are looking to share and serve as the best matching method in this case. You could also consider the topic Want to Talk if you are unsure where to start.

Can I become a Listener?

Yes! We work to maintain a broad wealth of Listener experiences for our Callers to choose from, and regularly add additional Listeners based on how they balance and compliment our current Listener community. We invite you to take part in our Listener Survey.

How can I become a Listener?

You can become a Listener by downloading our App and selecting Become a Listener. Once you have created an account, youll start our onboarding process which includes a background check and a few brief Listening Academy training sessions before you can become a Listener. Please note that Listeners must be 18 years of age or older.

What is the Listening Academy?

The Listening Academy is a training series for Listeners on our platform as well as anyone interested in improving their Listening skills. All Listeners are required to complete Listening Academy training before they can begin connecting with Callers. The Listening Academy is designed to empower Listeners through its mission to share listening skills and improve the daily lives of friends, family members and strangers. How do I get paid as a Listener?

Listeners are compensated for their time spent connecting with Callersmeasured in minutes. You will see how much you earned at the end of each call. We collect all of your earnings between Monday and Sunday and payout the total each Wednesday of the following week. You can always see your balance and when your next payout will occur in the MENU > Payment section of the app as well. Money is transferred to you directly through the payment method you choose when you set up your account. We partner with global transaction leader, Stripe, to ensure your information is always safe. Listeners are paid weekly on Wednesdays for earnings in the previous week.

How much do Listeners get paid?

Listeners are paid for their time spent connecting with Callersmeasured in minutesand make $0.30 per minute.

How do I set where payments are made?

As a Listener, navigate to the MENU in the app, and select My Payments. Under Receive Money, you can connect a bank account into which your deposits will automatically be made. You can update or remove this at any time. Payment information is set up via our partner, Stripe. We work hard to ensure the safety and security of our platform, and by partnering with Stripe we can keep your financial information safe and secure. What do I do if a Caller is making me uncomfortable?

The comfort and safety of our Callers and Listeners is our top priority. Listeners receive training through our Listening Academy on how to redirect a conversation if a Caller is making you uncomfortable, as well as when and how to end the conversation if it cannot be redirected. For any concerns, Listeners are encouraged to contact our Support Team after the call ends to ensure that our Safety team can review your concerns and take appropriate action. The App screen will show a button to contact Support once you complete a call, otherwise you can access it via the MENU > Support. You have our full support knowing that we are doing everything possible to ensure a comfortable and safe call.

How do I set or change my availability?

Your commitment to Listeners On Call is based on your schedule. When setting your schedule with Listeners On Call, you will be able to create windows of availability throughout the week and can change your availability at any time. Our platform operates 24/7/365 so it really is up to you to decide when and how often you want to connect! Listeners are required to maintain at least 1 hour of availability per week to stay active. In addition to availability windows, you can also toggle your availability to on or off manually so that you are always in control of when you receive opportunities to connect.

What if no one requests to connect with me or accepts my offer?

Connections through Listeners On Call are based on availability. We work hard to ensure that there are plenty of opportunities to connect on all relatable topics, but cannot guarantee that there will be a Caller in need during your window of availability.

Can I become a Caller?

Yes! We welcome all users to participate in the Listeners On Call community and we understand that even great Listeners might have something they need to get off their chest every once in a while. If you created an account as a Listener, you can use the same account information to become a Caller. Simply navigate to the App MENU and select Become A Caller at the bottom of the options.
