Select a tool from the Clipboard ribbon group to cut, copy, or paste any 2D or 3D object. You can use these tools any time, even when you are designing with other 2D or 3D tools.
Objects are pasted into the active component. Objects that can be named [components, bodies, axes, or planes] will retain their names when pasted.
When you cut and paste a solid or surface, the object retains its color and face style.
To cut an object
Select the object.
Select the Cut tool
from the Clipboard ribbon group.You can also press Ctrl+X or right-click in the and select Cut from the context menu. If you cut the face of a solid, it is converted to a surface.
To copy an object
Select the object.
Select the Copy tool
from the Clipboard ribbon group.You can also press Ctrl+C or right-click in the and select Copy from the context menu.
To paste an object into the Design window
Cut or copy the object.
Select the Paste tool
from the Clipboard ribbon group.You can also press Ctrl+V or right-click in the and select Paste from the context menu.
If you do not specify a location to paste, the copy is placed in its original location relative to the world origin.
When you paste an object and it is located outside of the visible area in the , the zoom is adjusted to make the object visible.
To paste an object onto a face
Select all the faces of the object.
[Optional] Alt+click the face of the object you want to attach to the face.
The face is highlighted in blue.
Cut or copy the selection.
Click the face onto which you want to paste the object.
Paste the object.
The object is pasted on the face at the location you clicked. The blue face is attached to the clicked face.
To paste a round onto another edge
Select the face of the round.
Cut or copy the face.
Click the edge onto which you want to paste the round.
Paste the round.
To delete an object
Right-click the selected object [or set of objects].
Press Delete.
If you want to delete something and fill the gap with neighboring geometry, or create faces in the gap, you should use the Fill tool.
If you delete the face of a solid, it is converted to a surface.

Most Google Web Designer elements, including complex elements like groups and components, can be cut or copied and pasted between documents or pages. Some limitations are listed below. - Use the Edit > Copy menu command.
- Right-click the selection and select Copy from the pop-up menu.
- Press Ctrl+C [Windows] or ⌘+C [Mac].
You can then paste the selection that you copied.
Paste the cut or copied selection
- Go to the destination document or page.
- Use one of the following methods to paste the selection that you cut or copied:
- Use the Edit > Paste menu command.
- Right-click the stage and select Paste from the pop-up menu.
- Press Ctrl+V [Windows] or ⌘+V [Mac].
Animation keyframes, relevant events, and dynamic data bindings for the pasted elements also get pasted by default, unless the destination document doesn't support them. If you want to paste elements without any animation, use the Edit > Paste without animations menu command.
Limitations
Based on document type
Some elements can't be copied and pasted into a document of a different type.
- Elements cannot be copied and pasted between an AMPHTML and a non-AMPHTML document
- HTML ads and HTML pages don't support:
- video and audio tracks and clips
- Image ads don't support:
- animation
- video and audio tracks and clips
- components
- iframes

For masks
Masks can be cut, copied, and pasted in a manner similar to elements, with the following limitations:
- You can only select a single mask to cut or copy, and a single element to paste the mask onto.
- Pasting a mask to an element that already has a mask will replace the existing mask.
- Masks cannot be cut, copied, or pasted in media rules.
For dynamic data and variant bindings
Bindings for dynamic data or variants can be copied along with their bound elements in some circumstances:
- When copying and pasting between HTML ads that use the same schema
- When pasting to video documents or image ads from any source
Otherwise, bindings will be removed from the pasted element.
Sample data and variant data are not copied.
