Phương pháp giải:
a] Muốn nhân hai phân số ta lấy tử số nhân với tử số, mẫu số nhân với mẫu số.
b] Muốn chia hai phân số cho một phân số ta lấy phân số thứ nhất nhân với phân số thứ hai đảo ngược.

Bài 3
Một tấm lưới sắt hình chữ nhật có chiều dài\[ \displaystyle{{15} \over 4}m\], chiều rộng\[ \displaystyle{2 \over 3}m\]. Tấm lưới được chia thành \[5\] phần bằng nhau. Tính diện tích của mỗi phần.
Phương pháp giải:
- Tính diện tích tấm lưới ta lấy chiều dài nhân với chiều rộng.
- Tính diện tích mỗi phần ta lấy diện tích tấm lưới chia cho \[5\].
Lời giải chi tiết:
Diện tích tấm lưới sắt hình chữ nhật là :
\[ \displaystyle{{15} \over 4} \times {2 \over 3} = {5 \over 2}\;[{m^2}]\]
Diện tích của mỗi phần tấm lưới sắt là :
\[ \displaystyle{5 \over 2}:5 = {1 \over 2}\;[{m^2}]\]
Đáp số :\[ \displaystyle{1 \over 2}{m^2}.\]
