Not seeing much activity on this thread for really old computers. Are people just not interested anymore or is there another thread/place? The win10 thread has a lot more activity. My Computer Local time11:51 PMPosts689Location MandaloreOS Windows 11 Pro
There`s already a thread on it. Last edited: Feb 17, 2022 My Computers

Wow that is a very old machine. By the way which method did you follow to install win 11? Is it the reg hack method or another one. I am testing installing Win 11 using dism command line. I did the test in Virtualbox using the eval ISO. I might test it later in a physical machine and see if it works. I used default Virtualbox settings for Windows 11 (64-bit). Now I changed the
memory size to 512 MB and it sill works. However, it is useless as it takes for ever to boot, but at least I knew I can run the machine with less than 1GB Ram. I used compact mode switch for
dism. My Computer

But is there a Rufus version that skips the CPU check too ? Last edited: Feb 17, 2022 My Computers

What CPU models are cut off again? I mean I just installed fine on a 17yr old Pentium D. My Computer Local time11:51 PMPosts689Location MandaloreOS Windows 11 Pro
I think the 7 series is the cutoff ? Windows Processor RequirementsThis specification details the processors that can be used with Customer Systems that include Windows Products (including Custom Images). My Computers

Yeah the Rufus patch definitely skipped that cpu check if it let me install on a Pentium D. That’s like 2 model paradigms before the spec cutoff. Pentium 4 My Computer

The easiest method to clean install Windows 11 on unsupported machines is to create a hybrid USB Flash drive. This is a regular Windows 10 installation USB with the file My Computers

Rufus plus W11 ISO so easy tho. Don't need W10 ISO, don't need to do any manual steps. I think all the check bypasses are the same? My Computer Local time6:51 AMPosts1,036Location AthensOS Windows 11 Pro 21H2 64-bit (build 22000.978)
Yes, Rufus works too. It uses the Windows 11 ISO and patches the Registry, so you don't have to do it during installation. The same USB can be used for either unsupported or supported computers, but it is UEFI only. The hybrid USB Flash drive can be used in Legacy BIOS machines without UEFI support. My Computers

Can Core 2 Duo E8400 run Windows 10?According to Microsoft, all Intel® Processors from 1 Gigahertz and faster will support Microsoft Windows® 10. However, compatibility with Windows* 10 is not only determined by the Processor itself.
Does Core 2 Duo E7500 support Windows 11?Yes, easily. I have installed Windows 10 on many Core 2 Duo systems with similar performance characteristics, including a laptop with a C2D T9800 CPU installed, which has the same 2.93 GHz clockspeed of the desktop E7500.
Is 2GB RAM enough for Windows 11?RAM - Your PC should have at least 4GB of RAM to be able to run Windows 11. If your old PC has 2GB of RAM, you cannot install Windows 11 and that is why you will need to go shopping for a new one or physically increase the RAM on your PC. Storage - 64GB is the minimum storage your PC needs to have.
