CPU socket 1366 list

Socket 1366, also called LGA1366 or Socket B, is a Land Grid Array (LGA) socket used by the latest generation of server-class Intel Core i7 and Xeon microprocessors. The socket supports triple-channel or six-channel DDR3 SDRAM memory controller and up to two QuickPath Interconnect links with frequencies up to 3.2 GHz. The socket 1366 along with the socket 1156 superseded socket 775.

The socket has 1366 contacts arranged as a grid of 43 x 41 contacts with 21 x 17 section de-populated in the center, and with 40 contacts in the socket corners and socket edges removed. After the processor is placed into the socket it has to be secured by pushing down socket's load lever.

The socket LGA1366 has 70% more contact pads than socket LGA775. Large increase in the number of contact pads was achieved by increasing socket size by 35% - 40%, and by reducing the distance between contact pads by 15%.
