According to Olivia Jan, Givaudan senior perfumer, romantic perfumes are typically associated with femininity. But through history, romantic fragrances have evolved from standard florals to more depth and spices, says Jan. "One thing remains constant: romantic fragrances give an impression of lightness, even those with an intense sillage," Jan tells us.
