2023 Audi Cars: Changes to A3, RS5, S6, and E-Tron GT Stand Out

Most of Audi's car models gain more content this year.

Continual improvement is the theme for Audi's 2023 car lineup. The brand applies a smattering of enhancements across its range, even to cars that debuted only a year ago. Most of the updates entail minor feature, package, or stylistic changes. Although that's the case for the S6 and S7, these sporty Audis also get a reworked engine that promises livelier performance. Click through to see what's new on every 2023 Audi car—just keep in mind supply chain constraints may inhibit availability of some of the features listed here. Ask your Audi dealer for details.

2023 Audi A3, S3, and RS3: What’s New

After its recent full redesign, Audi's smallest car gets a few updates for 2023. Full LED headlights and soft-touch armrest upholstery become standard across the A3 range. On the Premium Plus trim level, extended interior ambient lighting and gray wood trim are added. Choosing the A3 Black Optic Sport package brings 18-inch two-tone wheels. On the A3 and S3, the Convenience package adds a wireless device charging pad. On the Premium trim, Audi makes adaptive cruise control available as an on-demand feature—indicative of a contentious strategy automakers seem keen to employ but drivers are tepid to pay into. No changes are made to the snorty, sporty RS3, which made its debut for late 2022 following the A3's introduction.

2023 Audi A3, S3, and RS3: Pros and Cons

  • Chic exterior and interior styling
  • Zippy S3, feisty RS3

Cons

2023 Audi A4, S4, and A4 Allroad: What’s New

The 2023 A4 and A4 Allroad get upgraded LED headlights. On the Premium Plus trim, a Bang & Olufsen audio system becomes standard. The optional Black Optic Plus package available on the A4, Allroad, and S4 becomes blacker than ever with additional black trim elements including exhaust tips, mirror housings, spoilers, and badges. The Convenience package offered on the A4 and S4 now includes adaptive cruise control. On the S4 Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels, an Audi Sport interior package adds red upholstery stitching and carbon-fiber trim panels. District Green and Chronos Gray are new exterior color choices, while Quantum Gray, Terra Gray, and Turbo Blue are gone.

2023 Audi A5, S5, and RS5: What’s New

Audi gives the 2023 A5 a new 18-inch wheel design and upgraded LED headlights. On the A5 and S5 Premium Plus trim, a Bang & Olufsen audio system becomes standard, while the optional Convenience package adds adaptive cruise control. The S5 can also be had with the Audi Sport interior package, which adds red contrast upholstery stitching and carbon-fiber trim panels.

The drop-top A5 Cabriolet is enhanced with sporty S Line exterior design details, illuminated door sills, gray oak wood trim panels, and sport front seats as standard. An optional Black Optic Plus package darkens the appearance of the A5 and S5 with black finishing on the rear spoiler, exhaust tips, badges, and more.

Chronos Gray paint replaces Quantum Gray paint on the A5 and S5. Seen previously on the RS5 Launch Edition, Ascari Blue becomes a regular color option for the RS5, as Sonoma Green and Turbo Blue exit.

Cribbing a buzzword from its nemesis BMW, Audi introduces a Competition package for the 2023 RS5 (pictured here). Although the engine's output remains unchanged at 444 hp, top speed rises to 180 mph. A bespoke exhaust system pairs with reduced sound deadening for more noise and less weight. The chassis is enhanced by a manually adjustable coilover suspension, which lowers the ride height by up to 20mm. Additionally, stiffer anti-roll bars, a quicker steering ratio, and an improved rear differential promise sharper handling, further enabled by Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. The ABS system is retuned, and carbon front brake rotors are fitted for shorter stopping distances. The RS5 Competition stands apart with red, carbon fiber, and blacked-out trim details. The package is a $16,100 option.

2023 Audi A6, S6, RS6, and A6 Allroad: What’s New

On the A6's entry-level Premium trim, choosing the Convenience package now adds adaptive cruise control with lane keep assist. On the high-end Prestige trim, a semi-autonomous parking system becomes standard. Premium models of the A6 Allroad wagon are offered with a black headliner, as is the RS6.

The sporty 2023 S6 receives an updated engine for 2023. It remains a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 producing 444 hp but is now equipped with a so-called electric-powered compressor that uses a small motor-driven turbine to more quickly build turbo boost and sharpen throttle response. A new Premium trim is also introduced as the most approachable entry point to S6 ownership. Meanwhile, the Premium Plus trim adopts extended interior leather and ambient lighting, heated rear seats, and additional driver assist features.

Various packages are updated and added for the S6. The Executive package includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, a power-operated trunk, and extended interior ambient lighting. A new Audi Sport stitching package brings red details to the interior. Those details are also encompassed within the new S6 Design Edition, which is available in exclusive Arrow Gray paint. Whether that or another color is chosen, the S6 Design Edition wears a black roof, red-painted brake calipers, 21-inch wheels, and dark chrome exterior trim details.

2023 Audi A7, S7, and RS7: What’s New

Adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist are added to the 2023 A7 Premium trim by choosing the Convenience package. A remote parking system becomes standard on the Prestige trim. To optimize the A7's sporty style, Audi combines the S Line and Black Optic packages, which were previously available à la carte.

Updates to the 2023 S7 largely mirror those made to the 2023 S6. Responses from the twin-turbo V-6 become sharper thanks to an electric compressor. An entry-level Premium trim is added. The Premium Plus trim gets extended leather and ambient lighting, heated rear seats, and more driver assist tech. A newly available Audi Sport stitching package adds red upholstery stitching and other details to the cabin.
