The brains behind the series are certainly keeping things under wraps. The teaser trailer for Euphoria season 2 simply takes place in a high school; we find Rue (Zendaya's character) smiling as peers walk by in a crowded hallway. Oddly enough, she looks relatively happy for a character who is about to undergo some dark moments.

What is Euphoria about?

Like its YA peers, Euphoria addresses the ups and downs of life as a teen, including love, identity, vices, and more. However, what sets the show apart from others is its strong, emotional content.

In season one we find Rue, a high schooler who just finished a stint in rehab, who toys with the idea of a friendship and flirtation with Jules, a town newbie who is taken advantage of by an older man and threatened by his son. The pair part ways but do make their way back to one another at some point; it's a bit unclear how things will be for the two of them next season.

These ladies aren't the only characters struggling with demons; Nate uncovers highly explicit sexual material from his father, which ultimately affects his relationships with other characters throughout the show. Maddy is abused by a boyfriend; Cassie is in an abusive relationship (and had a complicated relationship with her father), and Kat becomes a seductive cam girl.

All in all, Zendaya was rightthis story won't be easy to tell. According to Digital Spy, we can expect two new male characters in their late teens to join the show, so it's likely they'll affect the current dynamic in some way.
