Nik Collection là ứng dụng chỉnh sửa ảnh của Nik Software, bị Google thâu tóm từ tháng 9/2012. Nik Collection là bộ sưu tập 7 công cụ dạng plug-ins chuyên dùng để chỉnh ảnh gồm: Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro, Viveza, HDR Efex Pro, Sharpener Pro, và Dfine.

Plugins Nik Softwaze Collection dành cho các nhiếp ảnh gia và những người làm việc chỉnh sửa hình ảnh . Đây là bộ plugins hiệu chỉnh ánh sáng màu sắc và hiệu ứng cho hình ảnh hỗ trợ Photoshop CS3 – Photoshop CC không thể thiếu trong bộ sưu tập của bạn.Nik Software và ứng dụng chỉnh sửa ảnh nổi tiếng Snapseed từ 9/2012. Hãng này sau đó khai tử bản Snapseed cho desktop vào tháng 3/2013, tuy nhiên vẫn giữ lại Nik Collection. Ứng dụng này được giảm giá từ 500 USD xuống còn 150 USD thời điểm đó, cho đến khi phát hành miễn phí lần này.

“Những người đam mê chỉnh sửa ảnh trên toàn thế giới sử dụng Nik Collection để tạo ra những bức ảnh tốt nhất mỗi ngày”, Google cho biết. “Chiến lược dài hơi của chúng tôi là phát triển những ứng dụng chỉnh sửa ảnh mạnh mẽ trên di động như Google Photos hay Snapseed. Do đó, chúng tôi quyết định cho tải miễn phí gói chỉnh sửa ảnh trên desktop Nik Collection miễn phí. Giờ đây, tất cả mọi người có thể sử dụng nó”.

Nik Collection có 7 plug-in cho việc chỉnh sửa ảnh. Trước khi phát hành miễn phí, ứng dụng này có giá bán 150 USD, chỉ có bản desktop. Bắt đầu từ 24/3, người dùng có thể tải về gói ứng dụng này hoàn toàn miễn phí. Đáng ngạc nhiên hơn, Google công bố sẽ hoàn tiền cho tất cả những ai đã mua ứng dụng này trong năm 2016. Việc hoàn tiền sẽ diễn ra trong “một vài ngày tới”.

Yêu cầu cấu hình máy sử dụng Nik Collection

* Máy Mac: yêu cầu dùng OS X 10.7.5 trở lên. Dùng Adobe Photoshop CS4 trở lên, hoặc Photoshop Elements 9, Photoshop Lightroom 3, hay Apple Aperture 3.1 trở lên.

* Windows: tương thích Windows Vista/7/8, Photoshop CS4, Photoshop Elements 9, Photoshop Lightroom 3.

* Card đồ họa: NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series, GeForce 9 Series, GeForce 100 Series, GeForce 200 Series, GeForce 300 Series, GeForce 400 Series, GeForce 500 Series, ATI Radeon HD2000 Series, Radeon HD3000 Series, Radeon HD4000 Series, Radeon HD5000 Series, Radeon HD6000 Series.

Nik Color Efex Pro hiện đang cho dùng miễn phí chạy chung như một Plug-in trên Photoshop, Lightroom phải nói là bộ Plug-in chuyên dụng để cân chỉnh độ sáng, sắc màu tuỳ biến, hiệu ứng ảnh và rất nhiều giả lập khác.

Sau khi tải về, cài đặt, rồi:

Photoshop: Vào menu Filter > Nik Software > Color Efex Pro

Lightroom: Vào menu Photo > Edit In > Color Efex Pro

Một số bộ lọc thường được dùng trong Nik Collection

– Polarization: Giả lập kính lọc Polar giúp chụp mây nổi khối, trời xanh, tăng saturation, khử tia phản chiếu giúp chụp xuyên gương hay mặt nước không bị soi bóng…

Đây thực chất là bộ plug-in được sử dụng chung trong ứng dụng Adobe Photoshop hoặc Adobe Lightroom. Bộ công cụ này cho phép chúng ta có thể cân chỉnh lại rất nhiều yếu tố trong một bức ảnh, chẳng hạn như màu sắc, độ chi tiết, bộ lọc giả lập màu,… Những điều này trước đây Photoshop hay Lightroom hoàn toàn có thể làm được, nhưng với sự giúp sức của Nik thì mọi việc sẽ được thực hiện cực nhanh dễ dàng.

The following rules apply to the DxO version of Nik Collection. They may work with the pre-DxO versions (legacy and Google), but this is not officially supported by DxO Labs.

• From Nik Collection 6.3 onwards, you can install and have different major instances of the Nik Collection (for example, Nik Collection 5 and Nik Collection 6).
• If you use an older major version of the Nik Collection and want to test the last major version, you can install the demo without crushing your version, use it and remove it if you don’t want to upgrade.
• If you like, you can run 2 simultaneous major instances of the Nik Collection (for example, running Nik Collection 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 side by side with Nik Collection 6).
• Installing an update will always replace the relevant major version (for example, Nik Collection 6.1 replaces Nik Collection 6.0 – you can’t have 6.0 and 6.1 running side by side).

Make sure to quit out of any host image editing application such as Photoshop or Lightroom. Locate the downloaded installation file and double-click on it to begin.

1. In the installation window, click on Nik Collection.
2. Select the installation language (the system language is selected by default).
3. A dialog box informs you that any version installed on your computer, including the original Nik Software Collection, the Google Nik Collection and any previous DxO version of the Nik Collection, will be replaced. Click the checkbox then hit Install.
4. A new dialog box asks you to accept the license agreement. Check the box and click on Accept (if you do not accept, the installation process will be cancelled).
5. The installer will suggest a default location (Program Files folder on PC, Applications folder on Mac) and indicate the space required and the space available. If you wish to install the Nik Collection in another location, click on Browse; a system dialog box will prompt you to create and/or select another volume. Click on Next to confirm.
6. The next window will show a list of compatible host programs detected on your computer. You can use the “-” button to remove a program from the list. Use the “+” button to add a program that is not automatically detected or that requires a special installation of plugins (see the paragraph on installing in Affinity Photo below). Click on Install to confirm (your system will display a security dialog box asking you to authorize installation).
7. The installation process will continue, displaying a progress bar.
8. The final window indicates that installation is complete. Click on Finish to exit the installation program.

Activation

The first time you launch the program after installation, you will be prompted to enter your registration key. This window will appear at each launch as long as you have not entered the key. During the trial period (30 days), you will be able to continue using the Nik Collection; after that, you will be blocked at the registration window.

Installing into a host application

The Nik Collection is automatically installed in the following host applications (make sure you have closed them before installation; if you don’t, a dialog box will appear to notify you):

• DxO PhotoLab.
• Adobe Lightroom Classic.
• Adobe Photoshop.
• Adobe Photoshop Elements.
• Affinity Photo.

Uninstalling

To uninstall the Nik Collection:

Before uninstalling, close the host applications.

Go to the Programs folder (Mac), and then to the Nik Collection folder, where you will find an Uninstall icon. Click on it to start uninstalling. On PC, go to Settings > Applications > Nik Collection > Uninstall.
