Đánh giá tokina 12-24f4 dx
My wide angle zoom adventures continue. Today I got Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X Pro DX zoom..Yep. "DX" = for APS-C... But I can tell people that this lens works very well on fullframe too! At least at 18-24mm. I'm not the first enthusiast who notice it (click) Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X build quality and construction is nothing less than excellent. Also its AF works well with A7RII (I tried it with Viltrox II&III and Sigma MC-11 adapters). It's also quite moderate size (APS-C lens after all), and fits nicely with Sony mirrorless. At 18-24mm focal length, I think this Tokina zoom perform (fullframe) better than Canon 17-40/4L, Soligor/Vivitar 19-35, Tokina AF 17-35mm f/4 AT-X and older Tokina 20-35/3.5-4.5. And of course you can use it in APS-C crop mode, then it's quite nice 18-35 FF equivalent zoom..Or you can crop in PP something like 1.3x crop and get about 15-30mm FF equivalent . Do you want to see some evidence of its "good" FF performance? Sure! I will post some soon... cheers, Ari -- hide signature -- - Ari Aikomus - 'Why should I feel lonely ? is not our planet in the Milky way?' The weather was very overcast and gloomy today. Not sunshine, not a lot of natural contrast...So, apologies for a bit dull and noisy samples. The corresponding Tokina 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 test shots here (click) (click original to see full size samples) All shots without hood. Hood adds vignetting at 12-18mm. At 20mm, you can use hood without vignetting. At 15mm, vignetting is that bad (even without hood): ..However you can still crop pretty usable panorama from it:. But vignetting is gone at 18mm! f/4 Wait a minute .. Why skewed images? Yep, not my mistake In order to see the corner performance better... f/5.6 f/8 20mm: f/5.6 f/11 Tokina 20-35/3.5-4.5, 20mm, f/4.5: Tokina 12-24/4, 20mm, f/4.5: ..I think Tokina 12-24/4 did very well here. Still nothing too scientific, but some experiments in terms of coma and distortion.. In comparison, here is a example a fairly typical wide angle "mustache" distortion: Soligor 19-35, 19mm, f/5.6: Not same focusing distance, but Tokina 12-24/4 makes much better job, what comes to distortions: Tokina at 18mm, f/5.6: ..also Tokina's distortion is easy to fix with Adobe's lens corrections. What about COMA then? Soligor 19-35 (and also Tokina 20-35/3.5-4.5) produce quite bad coma in edege/corners, but again Tokina 12-24/4 makes much better job (a great thing for shooting star-skies): Tokina 12-24/4, 18mm, f/5.6: 100% edge crop: Tokina 12-24/4, 18mm, f/5.6: 100% corner crop: Nice! ..And here are couple of sample shots more: 24mm, f/5 20mm, f/5.6 18mm, f/4 18mm, f/8 17mm is usable too, at least if crop a little: 17mm, f/8 That's it! Now I've done enough experiments with this lens - to know that I like it, keep it and know its nature. Now is the time to start the actual photography with it Happy shootings, Ari -- hide signature -- - Ari Aikomus - 'Why should I feel lonely ? is not our planet in the Milky way?' Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Tokina same design as Pentax 12-24 f/4, just different coatings and external cosmetic appearance? I have quite a few Pentax lenses that work well on A7RII, but haven't tried the 12-24 yet. Might give it a try soon. I have read other reviews lately that said the 11-16mm lens didn't work well but the 12-24 did. Most of my old lens collection doesn't work well on the A7ii (after seeing what current lenses can do) but it's nice to know this one does ! Thanks for sharing. Grant. Certainly worth trying. But remember that the original hood cause vignetting at 18mm, and that Pentax 12-24/4 does not have aperture ring! ...so you need that kind of adapter (click) which allows you to control the aperture manually! regards, Ari -- hide signature -- - Ari Aikomus - 'Why should I feel lonely ? is not our planet in the Milky way?'
