What appears at the bottom of an Excel 2022 workbook to distinguish individual worksheets?

The status bar at the bottom of Office programs displays status on options that are selected to appear on the status bar. Many options are selected by default.

In Microsoft Excel, a sheet, sheet tab, or worksheet tab is used to display the worksheet that a user is currently editing. By clicking a worksheet tab (located at the bottom of the window), users may move between the various worksheets.

In an Excel worksheet, each small rectangle or box is known as a cell. The active cell is the selected cell in which data is entered when you begin typing.

Each page is called a worksheet, and a collection of one or more worksheets is called a workbook (which is also sometimes called a spreadsheet file).
