Please pay a little bit more attention to the phrase "on the 9th of next month", which implies that the event will happen in the future, which perfectly fits the structure "is to do something" that is used to describe what is arranged to happen. My purpose here is not to prove that I am right, but to help suggesting the correct ways of using English words and phrases. Most of us Vietnamese are taught to memorize words, and we have done well at it. However, it would not be effective if we do not know how to use them properly, hence my comments. Memorizing without comprehending is like having all the ingredients for a delicious meal without knowing how to cook. Similarly, words are like pieces of a puzzle that are meaningless until appropriately put together. I believe that instead of finding ways to prove own knowledge, it would be better to take the comments and build from them. I would do the same. I commend you all for willing to share your English experience and helping others succeed. :) Hello M Clueless, What’s the point of trying to prove you’re right when you had sure as hell failed to see some very obvious, basic and can-not-be-any-simpler differences between some examples that can be written in present simple tense and some that we have no choice but have to use a different structure? Go to your home, buy a good English grammar book, get your butt down and see the differences for your own good. What’s the point of telling someone to try to use appropriate English if you, again, had created very bad examples for any English beginners to follow: To help suggesting the correct ways of using words and phrases! Are you kidding me or something? You can either say “to help to suggest” or “to help suggest” depending on what kind of English you want to follow, American English or British English but don’t you ever use “to help suggesting”. That’s what I believe that any English beginners must have mastered from their very first English lessons. What’s the point of “I would do the same” if what you’ve just done is completely against what you had said? Please, stop saying such nonsense here! And just one more thing: If there is anyone who feels disgruntled here, it’s definitely not me or Hoc De, that’s what I can say for sure.
